Black Walnut Bedside Table |

This bedside table top is a walnut crotch-grain slab 2 1/2" thick. A most interesting grain pattern here. The drawer is angular in design creating an unusually attractive look with compound angle dovetailed corners. The drawer bottom is a thick slice of the same walnut crotch-grain from the top. The legs are dramatic roots of spalted ash. The cross rails are mortise and thru tenon pinned with walnut treenails. |

There is a secret compartment fitted into the bottom of the slab and held in place magnetically, a small box made of walnut with dovetailed corners and a cedar bottom. The table measures 24" at widest by 36" L. by 20" H. The finish is hand-rubbed oil. |
