Dining Table An exquisite bookmatched pair of clear cherry slabs are joined to a curly maple slab along the grainline on the natural edge of the cherry. The seam is held together with butterfly keys on the top and ends. Dovetail splines run the entire width of the top to stabilize and strengthen as well as give interesting detail to the edge. The skirt is quarter-sawn cherry with dovetailed corners, inlayed yellowbirch bark trimmed with 1/4 twigs add a decorative detail. This piece also includes a stainless steel inset detail that ties it in to the clients existing cabinets. |

A most unusual set of large roots finish it off at the base. The roots are a yellow birch and a hemlock that grew together intertwining and creating a very dramatic root system. This table is finished in multiple coats of hand-rubbed oil. It measures 84" by 42". The chairs are designed by fellow artisan Mike Kuba. |
